Originally a small side hustle, Bec established the business in 2015 while she was working part time in adult mental health. Over the years her referrals grew and she continued to upskill. Today, Seed Ability (previously Swan Hill Occupational Therapy, then Swan Hill Kids Therapy) provides a professional service for the community that can be accessed by people of all ages.
Committed to driving her team to excellence, Bec ensures her therapists stay up to date with best practice and neuro-affirming evidence, and that they continue to build on their skills and knowledge. That way, the team can empower clients to embrace change and improve their overall health and wellbeing.
Bec and her husband have two children: Stella and Jimmy. They enjoy being active on the weekend, playing football and netball, playing at the park, taking the kids for ice cream and visiting different parts of Australia.
“I named the business ‘Seed’ because my origins. I grew up on a farm 45 minutes away from Swan Hill that’s been in my family since 1901. It’s a subtle reminder of what’s important to me: just as a seed needs the right conditions to grow in the Mallee climate, people need support and community to flourish. It also helps me to reflect on my family’s work ethic, which is a huge motivator for me.
“My aim is to empower everyone to pursue their dreams and goals, regardless of age. With a strong support system in our small community, we can accomplish anything.”
